Timber Blind Prediction Challenges

Let the experiment
have the final word.

Freeze a prediction against a documented timber experiment, preserve its assumptions and compare it with the measured response after a deliberate reveal.

Laboratory challenges

Fixed conditions. Inspectable predictions.

No live blind challenges yet

A real challenge requires a participating laboratory, a fixed experimental record and permission to release the results. No withheld experiment, partner or researcher result is being simulated here.

Published-data practice

Start with an experiment you can inspect.

These existing Benchmark Exchange cases use published reference curves. They are open practice cases; their results are already available.

The current starter cases are monotonic solid-wall experiments from one campaign. Opening and VOL cases still require source curation.

Credit that travels with the result

Frozen records retain method, software, contributor credit, declared calibration and prior access. Consent, review and public release are separate steps.

Replication with the differences visible

After reveal, record a new observation with its campaign, source, material and test-condition differences. Inspect a comparison without turning it into a blanket accuracy claim.
